Most people check their likes, feel good or bad, and post the same way again.

That is not analytics. That is guessing with extra steps.

Rooli Analytics is built to replace the guessing. You can see how every connected account is growing, which content is pulling its weight and what to post next. You can also turn it all into a report your client can open.

It is made for the people Rooli was built for. Social media managers handling several accounts. Business owners who want to know if their posting is paying off. Creators growing across more than one platform.

This guide walks you through what is inside, how to read each section and how to turn the numbers into your next move.

Before You Start

You need at least one social account connected to Rooli. Go to Social Accounts in the sidebar to check. Rooli Analytics works with Instagram, Facebook Pages, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube and Threads.

Note: X is not part of Rooli Analytics yet. It is coming later.

Plans: Advanced analytics is not available on the Free and Basic plans. Free and Basic users also cannot export their analytics.

Three things to know before you open it.

Rooli tracks from the day you join. When you connect an account, Rooli starts building your history from that point. It does not pull analytics from before you signed up. So the earlier you connect your accounts, the more history you will have to look back on.

Your first sync takes 24 hours. After you connect an account, give it 24 hours to sync before your analytics show up. If a new account looks empty, check back the next day.

Everything is time sensitive. Every number adjusts to the date range you choose. Change the dates and the whole dashboard follows. That means you can look at last week, last month or any custom window without doing any maths yourself.

Step 1: Start with the Big Picture

Click Analytics in your sidebar. At the top, you will see a From and To date, a social account selector and an Export button.

Leave the selector on All platforms and you land on the Overview. It shows how many profiles are connected, which one has the largest following, how many are growing and the reporting period you are viewing.

The All platforms overview in Rooli Analytics

Scroll down and you will see followers or subscribers for each connected profile side by side. After that, an Account snapshot gives you one quick card per platform, so you can compare accounts at a glance.

Rooli does not add up numbers that mean different things on different platforms. It compares what can be compared and keeps the rest apart. That keeps your data honest.

The Overview has two views you can switch between: Account and Content. Account is about your audience. Content is about what you published.

The Content view starts with four cards: content published, profiles with content, your most active profile and your best content performance. Below that, a graph shows how much you published on each profile. Publishing volume is the one thing you can compare directly across networks, so this is your main cross-platform content graph.

Then comes a Content snapshot with one card per profile. Each card uses that platform's own main metric. So you may see median impressions on one, median reach on another and median views on a third. It is the same idea, measured the way each platform measures it.

Compare accounts and Compare content go a step further. They line your profiles up side by side. Both are Advanced analytics features, marked Business+ in the dashboard.

Step 2: Learn to Read the Labels

Before you zoom in, take a minute to understand the small labels around the numbers. They tell you where each number comes from.

The data status bar and labels on a platform page

At the top of every platform page, you will see when the data was last synced, the reporting period and the stored history dates. Next to them are tags.

  • API means the number came straight from the platform.

  • Calculated means Rooli worked it out from platform data, for example a growth rate.

  • Rooli history means the number comes from snapshots Rooli saved after it started tracking.

  • Awaiting data means the platform has not returned that number for the period yet.

Metrics a platform does not support are hidden instead of shown as zero. So if you do not see a number you expected, it usually means that platform does not share it.

Step 3: Zoom In on One Account

Open the social account selector and pick one account. The page switches to that platform. Each platform has two tabs: Account and Content.

The Account tab starts with basic account analytics, such as followers and views. Next is Follower movement, which shows followers gained and lost in the period. On YouTube, this is Subscriber movement.

Below that is the Performance and actions chart. Use the dropdown to change what the chart shows, for example followers, followers gained or reach. On Instagram, the chart plots daily views and reach. Period reach is counted as unique across the whole timeframe, so it is not just daily reach added up.

Instagram account analytics, Account tab

Advanced account analytics differs by platform. Each platform shares different data, so Rooli shows what that platform actually allows. For example:

  • Instagram shows views, accounts reached, accounts engaged and profile taps.

  • YouTube shows watch time, plus viewer gender, viewer age, top countries, traffic sources and devices.

  • LinkedIn shows profile and post metrics that LinkedIn makes available.

Not sure where a number comes from? Tap Metric sources on the platform to find out.

Everything advanced here is marked Business+. On Instagram, Advanced account analytics has four tabs: Growth and discovery, Engagement quality, Profile actions and Trends and alerts. Growth and discovery shows net follower growth, follower growth rate, followers gained per 1K reach and non-follower view share.

Under that, Audience demographics shows who follows you, and Key account insights gives you short, plain observations based on your period. For example, which post was the strongest, or how your follower count moved.

A Note on LinkedIn

LinkedIn works differently, so here is what to expect.

LinkedIn does not allow you to pull data for posts you make directly on a personal profile. LinkedIn Company Pages and the other platforms allow it.

Personal Profile and Company Page metrics are also kept separate. Rooli never mixes them. That is why a personal profile will not show the audience details you would find on a Company Page, such as industry or seniority.

Step 4: Read Your Content

Switch to the Content tab. This is where you find out what your audience actually responds to.

At the top, summary cards show what was published, total impressions, interactions, engagement rate, median impressions and deep actions for the dates you chose. Deep actions are comments, shares, reposts, replies, quotes and saves, where the platform supports them. Notice that median impressions is described as less distorted by outliers. We will come back to why that matters.

Content summary and content performance table

Under that is the content performance table. It lists each piece of content with its date, type and numbers. You can filter by content type, search by caption, sort the list and choose your columns. On LinkedIn, the type filter includes posts, images, videos, carousels, documents, articles and events.

Click Details on any row to open a panel for that single post. It shows how the post has performed since Rooli started tracking it, with a button to open the original.

Top performers ranks your best content. You can rank it by impressions, engagement rate or reach, and view the top three overall or within one content type. This is an Advanced analytics feature, marked Business+ in the dashboard.

Step 5: Go Deeper with Advanced Content Analytics

Scroll down to Advanced content analytics. It has four tabs. All of it is marked Business+ in the dashboard.

Benchmarks shows your median impressions, your median engagement rate, your hit rate and how concentrated your results are in your top three posts. We use the median on purpose. One viral post can make an average look great. The median shows what a normal post does for your account. Hit rate shows how much of your content lands above that median.

Performance over time tracks one post after Rooli started tracking it. Pick a post from the dropdown and watch its impressions and engagements move. It helps you see whether a post keeps growing or stops after day one.

Compare formats compares your content formats on the median. For posts without images or videos, images and videos, it looks at your original content and shows which format earns more for your account, not just which one you post most.

The formats you see depend on the platform. On Instagram, Compare formats sets Posts, Reels, Videos and Carousels side by side, using median reach and median view frequency. Stories are left out because they work differently. Each format also shows how many items were eligible, so you know how much data sits behind each number.

Compare formats on Instagram

Patterns shows the habits hiding in your data. That includes how your top posts compare with the rest, your best day to post, how consistent your reach is and what kind of interaction your content earns, such as saves.

Tip: Small numbers can mislead. If a format only has one or two eligible items, treat the result as a hint, not a rule. Keep posting and check again.

Step 6: Send a Client Report

If you manage clients, this is the part that makes you look professional.

Exporting is not available on the Free and Basic plans.

Click Export, then choose Export client report. A window walks you through five steps.

  1. Social accounts: pick the connected accounts to include.

  2. Report period: set the dates that print on the report.

  3. Account section: choose what to show about profile health, growth and audience.

  4. Content section: choose which content formats to include.

  5. Report options: add a client name, report title and a note.

Export client report, with Business+ options marked

In the account section, the analytic summary, basic account KPIs and performance chart come with every report. Advanced calculated metrics, audience breakdowns and key insights are marked Business+.

Then choose a design. There are six: Signature, Midnight, Ocean, Emerald, Sunset and Rose.

Choose a design for the report

Click Preview export to check how it looks. When you are happy, click Download PDF. You can also save your setup as a template so next month takes minutes.

What Is Basic and What Is Advanced

Inside the dashboard, sections are labeled either Basic or Advanced with a Business+ tag.

Basic analytics includes the All platforms overview, content published by profile, account and content snapshots, basic account analytics, follower movement, the performance chart, the content performance table and content details.

Advanced analytics, marked Business+, includes:

  • Compare accounts and Compare content

  • Advanced account analytics, Audience demographics and Key account insights

  • Top performers

  • Advanced content analytics: Benchmarks, Performance over time, Compare formats and Patterns

  • Advanced calculated metrics, demographic breakdowns and key insights inside client reports

Advanced analytics is not available on the Free and Basic plans, and those plans cannot export analytics. See current plans at rooli.co/pricing.

How Different People Can Use It

If you are a social media manager, use the All platforms view to check every account in one sitting, then export a client report at the end of the month. Save your report setup as a template so each client report takes minutes.

If you run a business, focus on Top performers and Compare formats. Find the one format and topic that gets the best response, and make more of it.

If you are a creator, use the Content view and Patterns. See which platform and which day work best for you, then plan your week around them.

A Simple Weekly Routine

You do not need hours. Try this once a week.

  1. Set the date range to the last 7 days and leave the selector on All platforms.

  2. Check which profiles are growing.

  3. Open one account, then its Content tab. Look at your top posts.

  4. Open Compare formats. If images beat plain posts on median, make more images.

  5. Check Patterns for your best day, then schedule your strongest content there.

After a month, you are not guessing anymore. You have a strategy.
